Hi

I have started my Conversion.  I found an Alfa 156 with a blown engine. So far have stripped the car down, and removed most of the unneeded components. I had a coupler coupler made and recently got my adaptor plate back from Local Engineering Works. I am just waiting for 2 plates that I made that will go undr the engine mounts to be galvanied, and I should have the motor in ny the end of next week.

Will post some pics and a video

Hi
I am busy with a build in East London. It would be great to get in touch via email and perhaps share some some ideas and resources.
What is the final weight and range of your conversion. looks like a Golf 1. Very Nice.
I am doing a medium sized vehicle. Trying to cap the final weight at 1500km.

You can mail me at [email protected] if like.

Regards

Hi

I am busy with an EV project, I have started the other way around and have purchased a motor and controller first, and am now looking for a donor vehicle. My plan is to use the vehicle daily to commute to town and back, so I want it to be comfortable and in good condition. After spending all the cash on the project I would like to drive it for at least 10 years.

It's nice to see some activity on the forum.

Hi Gerrit

I am also planning an EV. My requirements are very similar. 70km return trip so 100km range will be a safe target to aim for. I think it will all come down to vehilce choice (weight/drag co-eff, batteries, speed requirements). The power consumption traveling on a flat road at 80km/h are about 3 x more than at 60km/h.

Hope fully we can help each other in our planning.
